This is a small sized dream catcher, 2 inches across. This dream catcher is dye red leather surrounding the traditional raw hide center. The total length with the four feathers and the leather hanging thong is about 10 inches. This dream catcher has brown and black beads at the top of each feather. Woven within the center of the dream catcher is one turquoise beads. The dream catcher is a tradition from the Plains Indians. You hang them by the window or at the head of your bed. The bad dreams get caught in the web. The good dreams work their way through the hole in the center, rest on the feather like a dew drop, and evaporate to the Great Spirit in the morning sun. The prayer beads on the Dream Catcher trap all bad dreams that are left on the web. The prayer beads then burn up the bad dreams. This dream catcher was made by Navajo artist, Mae Stone.
