San Juan Black Kolowisi Two Mouth Pot

San Juan artist Brenda Correa designed and made this unique two mouthed pot. Brenda was taught the art of pot making by her mother, Maria Adelicia. This pot is etched black pottery. The pot has traditional Native American and Zuni designs etched into it. The design that Brenda put onto this pot is the Kolowisi or the horned water serpent. Kolowisi would team with Kokopelli to bring bountiful crops. Kolowisi brought the water, Kokopelli brought the fertility. This wonderful pot was stone polished to a high gloss. It has two small mouth opening, each about 1 inch. One mouth is slightly higher than the other. It then flares out to a beautifully round base with Kolowisi swimming around the widest part. The vase is about 5 inches wide and stands about 4.5 inches tall.
