This is an Acoma engagement vase. The engagement vase is a representation of the braiding of two to one, but not joined to one. The bridge that crosses from the two openings is that representation. Acoma artist S. Phillips designed and made this vase. The vase has traditional Acoma patterns painted around it. Painted at the top, between the openings are two gecko lizards. It stands only 6 inches tall and is 4.5 inches wide. |
